England is Mine by Nicolas Padamsee is a coming-of-age story about two East London teenagers, David and Hassan, whose lives become intertwined as they navigate radicalization, identity, and belonging in a rapidly changing society. David, disillusioned with his life and idolizing a Morrissey-esque musician named Karl Williams, gets drawn into far-right online communities after Williams is "cancelled" for making Islamophobic comments. Meanwhile, Hassan, a second-generation immigrant, experiences alienation from his friends and grapples with his own sense of identity within his community. The novel explores themes of toxic masculinity, marginalization, and the allure of extremism, culminating in a dramatic climax as their paths converge.
